Did you know?

Approximately 2,000 years ago, the Greeks figured out that an oar affixed to the side of a boat working against a fulcrum was more effective than a paddle. Back then, rowing wasn't a sport, but a means of survival for the oarsmen who maneuvered large warships in battle.
